This 1-day pre- conference workshop will be held at Morgan State University on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop, funded by the National Science Foundation, will provide a professional development opportunity for geographers\u2014meeting experts in the field, interacting with colleagues and faculty leaders from other HBCUs and MSIs, and creating networks and lasting professional connections to support advancing geography and their own professional development. Awardees are expected to attend the full REP Conference with the option to present scholarly work and\/or organize and participate in themed sessions or panels, including panels that will carry the theme of the pre-conference workshop through the full conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Awardees will receive free registration, hotel accommodation, travel support, and special recognition during the conference. Awardees must arrive the Tuesday evening before the workshop if coming from a distance to Baltimore, attend the pre-conference workshop on Wednesday at Morgan State, and actively participate in the conference through Saturday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Eligibility:<\/em><\/strong> Applications are open to faculty members, graduate students, and recent post-graduates who teach at or are interested in teaching at and providing programmatic leadership in geography or geospatial science at an HBCU, MSI or Tribal College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Application Guidelines:<\/em><\/strong> Submit a letter explaining your present professional and\/or academic status, your interest in advancing geography and geospatial science at an HBCU, PBI, HSI, Tribal College, or other MSI, and how this award would further these interests. Include topics that you feel would be of most interest and\/or that you can contribute to the workshop. Applications are due August 1st and have to be submitted using the form below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selected participants will be notified by September 1st.
