Field trip costs will cover transportation and entrance fees into museums when applicable. Meals are not included. Field trip leaders will contact participants who have indicated interest with trip details and the opportunity to register for individual trips.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ethnic Austin: Murals\u00a0Tour:<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>coordinated in collaboration with the Mexican American Cultural Center\u00a0and led by local mural artists.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ethnic Austin: Museums Tour:<\/strong><span>\u00a0Explore smaller Austin\u00a0museums that highlight Latino, African American,\u00a0Asian American and\u00a0Feminist\u00a0art\u00a0coordinated in collaboration with the City of Austin. The tour will be led by local expert Dr. Laura Esparza.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Race, power and urban change in Austin<\/strong>: Tour some of Austin\u2019s rapidly gentrifying areas with a local expert and meet with local community leaders to learn about current policy debates regarding zoning and affordable housing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Austin\u2019s Racial Geographies<\/strong>: Tour the UT campus and surrounding neighborhoods to learn about local efforts to remove Confederate street and school names and statues and efforts to preserve historically Black and Latino neighborhoods. The tour will be led by Dr. Edmund T. Gordon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em><br \/>\nField Trip Registration<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sign up and payment for field trips occur separately from regular conference registration.
