The REP Conference Board and X REP Conference Organizers are monitoring the impact of Covid-19 on travel and budgets and working to ensure that, if possible, we can continue with the established conference schedule—October 22-24, 2020. If necessary, we will postpone the X REP until October 2021. We will make a decision with respect to postponing in June 2020.
What does this mean for you?
Pre-Registration. We ask that you pre-register now by entering your email below and indicating whether you plan to present a paper or organize a paper or panel session. This will allow us to compile as complete a contact list as possible of people interested in REP 2020, especially those planning to submit a paper or paper or panel session. If you pre-register, we will know how to contact you directly with updates.
Pre-register today and stay
updated about the REP conference.
Registration and Fees. The Early Registration deadline is July 31st. If we determine that it is necessary to postpone the conference until October 2021, your registration payment will apply to the October 2021 conference or you can request a refund.
Paper and Panel Submissions. July 31st is the deadline submission (with required registration) for now. However, it would be helpful for our planning if you will communicate now through the pre-registration process if you plan to present a paper or organize a paper or panel session.
Sponsorships. We will continue to solicit and accept sponsorships in order to ensure that we have a sufficient funding base for the conference (and possible hybrid conference format). We are prepared to accept payments in either FY2020 (until June 30, 2020) or FY2021 (after July 1, 2020), or spread over both. If we were to postpone the conference to October 2021, we could also accept payments after July 1, 2021.
NSF Workshop on Advancing Geography at HBCUs and MSIs. We received an NSF grant for a one-day workshop at Morgan State University ahead of the scheduled conference (see more information on the REP website under ‘Pre-Conference Workshop’). If you or anyone you know is currently teaching or is interested in teaching geography and /or spatial sciences at an HBCU or MSI, please see the instructions and apply for the workshop . The deadline to apply is June 30, 2020.
If you have questions about the X REP Conference or REP Pre-Conference Workshop, please direct them to Joe Wood at email@example.com.
